As Halloween approaches, the air is filled with anticipation for ghost stories and paranormal mysteries. Here at Gardenview Estate Bed & Breakfast, Halloween is a favorite time of year for me, and we’ve had our share of intriguing experiences that make us wonder—are we haunted?
While I’ve never personally encountered any paranormal visitors, my husband Tom, dad, and brother have all reported some eerie experiences. My dad, for instance, has heard festive holiday singing and even had his necklace mysteriously moved around his neck. My brother has seen a shadowy figure in the hallway, adding to the property’s intriguing lore. Tom has also encountered some unusual occurrences, like receiving unexpected help with landscaping and hearing those same holiday tunes.
Adding to the mystery, I have a friend who is a medium. During her first stay, she didn’t know the history of our property. When I asked her how her night went, she casually mentioned that there was quite a bit of activity around 3 am—only to clarify that she meant ghosts, not wildlife.
Interestingly, many locals have their own ghost stories to share when they learn about our historic property. It’s a great way to break the ice with servers at restaurants or cashiers at the grocery store!
To celebrate the spooky season, we’re excited to host our annual Haunted Historic Property Tour on Friday, October 25th. Join us for a fun evening where we’ll walk the grounds, share historical facts mixed with ghost stories, and enjoy warm apple cider. Details about the event can be found on our Facebook page and the Events section of our website.
So, are we haunted? Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there’s no denying that our property has a rich history and a few delightful mysteries. We hope to see you on October 25th for a spooky and enjoyable evening!
